0:02 If you need help with uh Drupal and AI
0:04 or AI in general, just get in contact
0:06 with us. So today I'm going to showcase
0:09 a very short video, but something very
0:12 powerful if you're if you have a
0:14 multilingual site. And that's how you
0:16 can do automated Drupal translations
0:20 um using AI, but without it costing any
0:24 money and without it being a privacy
0:27 concern. meaning that you can translate
0:29 your private material that is for
0:31 certain people's eyes only and that is
0:34 using something called translation with
0:36 built-in AI from the AI on Chrome. So
0:40 what this is, it is a provider that's
0:43 built into the Chrome browser. And I've
0:45 already shown a video before about some
0:47 of the more experimental things they
0:50 have. But what I'm showcasing today is
0:53 something that is stable already in the
0:55 Chrome browser you have, assuming you
0:58 update uh u and don't have a very old
1:02 version. So we have the browser provider
1:05 and the idea behind the browser provider
1:07 is to have a provider that can talk
1:09 specifically then to front-end
1:11 providers. Uh right now well right
1:15 before the latest releases it was just
1:18 very experimental something you should
1:20 not be using at all. Uh I would say what
1:24 I'm showcasing today
1:27 it's up to you basically. Um we don't
1:31 have security uh uh secure checking on
1:35 it yet but it's using private temp
1:38 storage for all the calls. So to send
1:40 them from the back end to the front end
1:42 so I I don't think it's very unsecure
1:47 but it's up to you to basically check
1:49 it. You can check the code as well.
1:51 There is an alpha release you have to
1:52 get that. So I'm just going to showcase
1:55 here how it works. I have a a Drupal CMS
1:58 up and running. Um, and I have then
2:02 downloaded this. I'm just going to
2:04 install now AI module. I'm going to
2:07 install AI translate. It says deprecated
2:10 because I haven't gotten the other AI
2:12 translate module. So, we're moving it
2:13 out for 2.0. If you're actually setting
2:16 this up, use the AI translate contract
2:19 module, not the subm module. Uh, and the
2:23 browser provider. And those three things
2:27 uh will also make sure that you install
2:28 content translation and language.
2:31 Installing this is going to take some
2:33 time uh because of the language model
2:35 module.
2:37 Uh so what this is installing now it's
2:40 installing the core module of Drupal uh
2:43 that basically takes care of
2:46 uh you know having a abstraction layer
2:50 how AI can talk. It installs the browser
2:53 provider. Uh, and I will start by
2:56 showing the settings for that. So, there
2:58 is a browser provider. It sets up the
3:00 translation automatically. So, you see
3:02 you have the chat prompt there as well,
3:03 but since that's experimental since you
3:06 need a flag to install this. Uh, we have
3:09 that disabled by default and you can
3:11 choose to enable it. Um, there are some
3:14 other settings there that you can read
3:16 about, but for translate you don't
3:17 really have to change anything. What you
3:20 need to do is go to uh default settings
3:22 though and say that the browser client
3:25 with Google Chrome is the default
3:28 translate text provider.
3:31 Uh the next step we need to do is
3:34 typical Drupal stuff. We need to add a
3:36 language. So we only have English now.
3:38 So let's add uh German
3:41 and Spanish.
3:44 Uh and you're going to start seeing
3:47 things here. uh that is connected to the
3:50 browser provider then
3:53 um
3:58 so let's see here
4:01 if it can
4:05 Spanish was what we wanted to add so
4:08 this pops up here but I'm going to
4:10 showcase where it will pop up for your
4:12 editors as well so I'm not going to uh
4:14 do anything here what we need to do as
4:17 well is go to content types. So, we're
4:20 going to take the utility page that
4:22 comes with Drupal CMS. You have to
4:24 specify under language settings under
4:26 edit that you enable translations
4:29 otherwise it's not translatable. And
4:31 then we go to Drupal CMS
4:33 uh under well we can just look at the
4:37 privacy policy first. So, it's not much
4:39 text you would have to add but you I'm
4:41 just going to showcase that this get
4:43 translated. So, there's a drop-own
4:45 translate. You can also click edit and
4:47 click translate.
4:49 And now what it says then is translation
4:52 language packs. And this is for my
4:54 browser then of course. So if I download
4:57 this and another person on their browser
5:00 wants to do the same, they also need to
5:02 download this. So you just click on
5:04 download and it's going to now download
5:06 the English German pack. The opposite is
5:09 going to be very fast. I think they're
5:12 just inverting it. And then we're
5:13 downloading the English Spanish
5:16 English.
5:18 And then we can use it as we have used
5:21 AI translate with OpenAI or anything.
5:24 The only difference now when I click on
5:26 this, it's going to basically ask my
5:30 browser, can you translate this for me?
5:32 Save it into the back end and work as
5:34 any other provider. Uh which means that
5:37 it works like any other uh provider. You
5:40 can see here German, but let's just do
5:42 Spanish also. So I showcase this.
5:45 Um,
5:48 and I would say that's quite powerful.
5:51 It doesn't leave my computer now. In
5:52 theory, I should be able to turn off my
5:55 um computer uh sorry, turn off my
5:59 internet and it should work. So you can
6:01 see here it's translated. You can see
6:04 here it's translated.
6:07 So very easy. uh very easy thing you can
6:12 try out today but immensely powerful and
6:15 it saves you a lot of money if you use
6:17 the bell or open AAI or something else
6:19 for translation at the moment. Thank you
6:22 for watching.
